Estate Maintenance: The Woodland Trust
The client: The Woodland Trust
The site: Sites across Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire
The brief: Carrying out general maintenance including cutting the paths, track and roads on a cyclical basis as per stringent specifications set out in the site-specific plans.
Our solution: Whilst working as representatives of the Woodland Trust we focus a great deal of attention on the environment due to the environmental sensitivity of their sites, as such we ensure we are fully briefed on the jobs and always stick to the stringent specification set out in the site-specific plans. As all the sites we work on allow full public access, health and safety is always at the forefront of our work. Due to the sensitivity of the works we employee two full-time operatives who work solely on this contract throughout the year and take on additional members of the team where necessary.
The result: Since taking this contract in 2012 we have kept the sites we maintain in good environmental state and ensure they are safe for visitors. In addition, we have carried out ad hoc works on sites such as fencing, larger tree works with our arboricultural team and surfacing as required. The contract is valued at approximately £30,000 per annum.
