Gareth Biggins

Gareth is a Chartered Forester with experience spanning woodland creation, management, silviculture, tree health and forestry regulation.

Having previously spent 15 years in senior management roles within the rail industry, Gareth brings strong experience in strategic planning, innovation and project delivery to his forestry work. He retrained as a professional forester through the founding cohort of the Forestry Commission’s Professional Forester Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Cumbria.

Before joining Maydencroft, Gareth worked with the Forestry Commission and Forest of Marston Vale, supporting woodland creation and management projects and advising on grants, tree health and regulatory matters.

He has a particular interest in developing resilient, productive woodlands that can adapt to climate change, pests and diseases while delivering sustainable environmental, social and economic benefits.
