Explore the edible wonders of the British countryside on a guided foraging walk through the beautiful Panshanger Park, led by wild flavour specialist and food educator George Fredenham—better known as FlavourFred.

Taking place on Friday, 23rd May 2025 and Friday, 27th June 2025, this Flavour-Led Foraging Walk promises to open your eyes—and palate—to the culinary treasures growing all around us. From hedgerow to table, FlavourFred takes participants on a 2.5-hour sensory journey to reconnect with nature through flavour, tradition, and sustainable living.

Wild Food, Real Flavour

Renowned for his inventive use of native wild ingredients—including his now-legendary Chicken of the Woods Katsu Curry—George’s approach to foraging is flavour-led and deeply rooted in British ecological and culinary heritage.

“What I love most about foraging is discovering flavours you wouldn’t associate with the British Isles,” says George. “There’s a whole world of spice, sweetness, and depth right here in our fields, forests and hedgerows—we’ve just forgotten how to find it.”

Held in the scenic heart of Hertfordshire, this guided walk is ideal for food lovers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone curious about how to live—and eat—more closely with the land.

Each walk includes:

• A hands-on introduction to wild food identification
• Guidance on safety, toxic lookalikes, and foraging laws
• Stories, folklore, and historical uses of seasonal plants

• A selection of wild tasters, including bread, condiments and drinks
