After seven years as a sound technician and nine years as an AV systems engineer Stephen wanted a break and a lot more daylight.
In 2014 he asked a friend if he could join his gardening team (just for the summer) and he never went back inside.
In 2016 Stephen started with a landscaping firm and by 2020 he was working for a grounds maintenance company across six estates.
Tired of jumping from site to site and step-stoning employers he reached out to Maydencroft hoping to find a role on a single estate and a progressive, long term career.
He has been at Ascot Place since 2023 and certainly feels that he has found his place. The site evolves constantly. Every year it offers new challenges to overcome and plenty of opportunities to learn and develop more skills. You get out what you put in. And we get a lot out of working here.
