Alison began working as a professional Ecologist in 2014 after graduating from Plymouth University with a Masters degree in Environmental Consultancy. Alison has worked with a variety of clients across different sectors, including utility companies, local authorities, and commercial developers. In her previous role, she gained experience with working on small to large scale housing developments and gained an in-depth understanding of the planning system.
Alison now manages the day to day ecology workload at Maydencroft and has gained her Level 2 bat and great crested newt licences, along with being a qualified tree climber. She has experience of projects covering both phase 1 and phase 2 habitat and species surveys, ecological clerk of works, ecological impact assessments, mitigation and enhancement design and habitat management plans. She also has experience in carrying out water vole, otter, dormouse, bat, badger and invasive species surveys, recently undertaken for the River Beane, River Mimram and River Gade restoration projects across Hertfordshire.
