Digger Cooke-Hurle

Regional Director – North

Digger joined Maydencroft at its infancy in January 2008. With the company’s continuous expansion, has occupied every role within the contracting division and in some capacity overseen nearly every contracting project undertaken by Maydencroft.

Holding an honours degree in Countryside Management from Newcastle University and numerous industry qualifications, he shares his knowledge to Maydencroft’s ever-expanding workforce, and over the years, managed many operational teams.

In 2021, with his love of the northeast, Digger has decided to return to his roots with his family to setup a new office from his farm near Barnard Castle as Regional Director.

“With the increased significance of improving our natural environment for future generations, the need for an environmental business such as Maydencroft in northern England is stronger now than ever.

Being able to contribute to slowing climate change from my own doorstep is an opportunity I couldn’t resist. We’re perfectly placed in ‘Barney’ to carry out environmental projects such as peatland restoration and large-scale tree planting and to get involved in so much more too.”
