We are delighted that our Farm Assistant Simon secured a place on the Future Farmer Programme.

Tesco and Harper Adams University’s School of Sustainable Food and Farming (SSFF) opened a major new multi-year programme to help up-and-coming British farmers develop their skills in sustainable agriculture.

With recent surveys suggesting younger farmers have identified skills gaps in areas including sustainability and the environment, the programme will provide 75 young farmers with face-to-face and live online training on implementing sustainable agriculture practices and protecting biodiversity.

It is for farmers under 40 and takes nine months to complete.

We will keep you updated on his progress.
