Whippendell is all Ancient Semi Natural Woodland and Site of Special Scientific Interest owned by Watford Town Council. A Woodland Countryside Stewardship Scheme grant is in place for 5 years. This includes thinning of trees to stimulate ground flora, small selective group fells to establish the next generation of trees, coppicing, ride widening and invasive rhododendron and snowberry control.

Maydencroft has been commissioned to carry out all the works with our in-house forestry teams and The Mayor came to visit us in action.
