Our consultants have been undertaking tree surveys for clients in the sustainable energy industry, assisting with planning rural solar farms installed near established trees and hedgerows and solar energy EV charging stations.

Our role with these projects often begins at the initial stages to identify viable cable routes from solar farms to EV charging points that have the least arboricultural impact.

Our survey findings inform the layout of the final design for these projects, as our clients have a minimal-environmental-impact approach; this facilitates the delivery of the project, designing around existing trees and vegetation and adjusting it accordingly to ensure trees are removed only where necessary.

Once installed, the fields in which the solar panels are installed can again be used for pasture. The sheep can graze beneath the panels, which provide shade and some protection from the elements.
