A new car park for Hounslow Heath

One of London’s largest nature reserves, Hounslow Heath is situated in the Green Belt and is a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation. The existing car park was degraded, heavily potholed and too urban for its setting, it lacked a sense of arrival which conflicted with its wider natural surroundings.

What began as a landscape concept plan by our consultancy team setting out the key interventions for the park (including: one-way traffic system, reduced road widths to slow vehicles, new pedestrian crossings to give priority to people over cars, series of new footpaths and cycleways and space for new native tree and wildflower planting) quickly evolved into a bold and yet humble designed car park.

The consultancy team then handed the project to our contracting division, who turned the concept into reality, creating a robust and sustainable car park in the process.

Working with high quality materials from our sister company, Revive Recycled Plastic to create curved roads is no easy feat, not to mention the construction of the raised tables / crossings which require bespoke construction methods, clearly demonstrates our high level of workmanship and adaptability.
