A tree survey for a new car park

To inform the design and layout of a new visitor car park, we carried out a detailed BS 5837 tree survey on the site of a 3.4 hectare field.

Arboricultural expertise
The aim with this survey was to provide information on the location, quality and condition of trees, to make sure the proposed car park scheme complied with both BS 5837and local authority regulations.

In preparation, we commissioned a topographic survey, which we used as a base map. The survey itself was carried out by one of our arboricultural experts, who holds the Lantra Tree Inspection qualification, and is also a highly skilled tree surgeon.

Trees and car park in harmony
The qualitative and quantitative details of 170 trees were recorded, and our senior landscape consultant produced detailed reports and drawings, which informed the creation of the car park. It also indicated the need for remedial work, and for some trees to remain.
