Protecting wildlife during a construction project

To help our client protect biodiversity during the conversion of agricultural land into public open space, we delivered comprehensive reports, designed to encourage new habitats and protect species.

LEMP and CEMP reports to help new habitats thrive
For the conversion into a public space of the Shurlock Road Nature Reserve in Waltham St. Lawrence, we produced a Landscape and Ecological Management Plan (LEMP) and a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).

As a result of this, a number of habitats and ecological features have been constructed, including the creation of grass swales, a new pond with associated aquatic flora, species-rich native hedgerow, scattered tree planting, hibernacula and the installation of both bird and bat boxes. Our reports outlined the aftercare and management of these features for the next five years.
