Tree safety works at Springwell Lake

We were able to remove the risk from over-mature poplars, and extract the timber with minimal disturbance to the nearby lake and boardwalk.

Keeping the public safe
The narrow bank between Springwell Lake and the River Colne is used a lot by the public – but the over-mature poplar trees in the area were deemed unsafe.

Once we’d temporarily closed the footpath, we used a crane to dismantle the poplars safely and efficiently – and lift the cut limbs over the river to where they were processed.

As a result, the dangerous trees have now been made safe, and the pathway re-opened to the public and local fishing club.
