For Affinity Water

Tree safety inspection and habitat assessment

We helped keep Clay Lane Education Centre in Bushy, Hertfordshire, safe for their many school-aged visitors.

A safe place for children to learn
Affinity Water’s Environment and Education Centre welcomes more than 6000 school children each year. So to make sure there’s no risk for any visitors, we were tasked with completing a tree safety assessment.

Our arboricultural consultants drew up a comprehensive report, categorising tree works into priority groups. This was to focus budgets on the trees that required the most immediate attention. We also created clear maps to help the site manager, and provide consistency for future inspections.

New native species
In addition, our client was keen to enhance the management of the site for wildlife – so we made recommendations on how areas could be improved, such as small-scale native species planting, pollarding and coppicing around the wetland areas.
