Protected Species Surveys for a walled garden restoration

As part of a restoration project, we carried out ecological surveys for a number of species within a historical kitchen garden.

Working closely together
The kitchen garden at Fawsley Hall is Grade II listed, and our client had ambitions to restore it to former glories. As a first step, we were asked to undertake a number of protected species surveys – and worked closely with our client’s team and Natural England, with regular site meetings.

Bats, badgers and newts
We completed ecological surveys on bats, badgers and great crested newt habitat, as well as one on reptile presence. We guided our client through every stage of the process, and ensured that every survey was completed within the project deadlines.

Our work enabled the Fawsley Estate to successfully gain planning for their project, while protecting the natural heritage of the site.
