The quarrying company Tarmac has owned the 1,000-acre Panshanger Park in Hertfordshire since the 1950s. Now, sand and gravel extraction has been completed and the company has been restoring the quarry to a country park and nature reserve.
Panshanger Park has welcomed five longhorn calves, the first of 16 expected, after the breed was introduced to the nature reserve near Hertford in April.
A specialist team will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the park, providing support to both TARMAC and Hertfordshire and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.
The 5% Club is an employer-member organisation encouraging bosses to ensure at least 5% of their workers are benefiting from 'earn and learn' opportunities.

Hertfordshire-based Maydencroft has joined Lady Cobham, the Director General of the CBI, in endorsing the work of the 5% Club on the fifth anniversary of its establishment.
